A Florida-licensed attorney whose practice focuses on digital assets, tax and business matters. Your matter is led by him from the first consultation through to its resolution.
Consultations
What to expect
A conversation about your matter. It creates no attorney-client relationship, and commits neither side to an engagement.
-
Discuss your matter
You describe what has happened, and the attorney asks about the facts, the records you hold and any deadlines already running.
-
Review potential next steps
You talk through the routes that may be open on those facts, what each would involve, and what information would be needed to pursue them.
-
Confirm scope and fees
If the firm can help and you decide to proceed, the scope of work and the fee are set out in writing before any engagement begins.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
General information, not legal advice. Every answer depends on the facts of the particular matter.
What happens in an initial consultation?
You describe the matter, the attorney asks questions about the facts and any deadlines, and you discuss the options that may be open to you. If the firm can help, scope and fee are set out in writing afterwards. Booking a consultation does not create an attorney-client relationship and does not commit either side to an engagement.
What does it cost?
It depends on the matter. Scope and fee are set out in writing after an initial consultation and before any engagement begins.
Do you work with clients outside Florida?
Often, yes. The firm is licensed in Florida. Federal matters and transactional work can frequently be handled for clients located elsewhere, and court appearances in another state are handled with local counsel there. Whether that works for your matter depends on where the issue sits, so it is one of the first things discussed in a consultation.
Do I owe tax on crypto I have not sold?
Holding alone generally does not trigger tax. Tax is usually triggered by selling, by trading one token for another, or by spending. Staking, mining and airdrops are treated as separate income events. Reporting obligations can apply even in a year with no gain.
General information only. Last reviewed September 20, 2026.Can a lawyer help with a frozen exchange account?
Often. Freezes come from compliance reviews, suspected fraud, third-party claims or platform insolvency, and each of those has a different route out. The work is establishing ownership, documenting the account history, working the platform's own process, and litigating where that process fails.
What options may be available after a crypto investment loss?
That depends on what happened. A loss caused by the market is different from a loss caused by misrepresentation, by a platform that stopped honouring withdrawals, or by theft. Depending on the facts, the routes considered include fraud claims, state unfair trade practice claims, claims against a platform, and the tax treatment of the loss. A review of the records usually comes before any view on which of those fits.
General information only. Last reviewed September 20, 2026.Can I start with a preferred name or Telegram handle?
Yes. You can use a preferred name or handle for an initial inquiry. Before reviewing your matter or agreeing to represent you, the firm may need your legal name and other information for conflict checks and intake. We will explain what is needed and how to provide it.
Do I need an attorney to launch a token?
It is strongly advisable. A launch can touch securities, commodities, money transmission, tax and consumer protection law at the same time, and the structure is difficult to unwind once it is live.
